It will be inaugurated on 12th October by the Governor of Karnataka
State. The station will be available as a club station in Bangalore
for amateurs and will also serve as an emergency communications

emergency power. It has HF and VHF capability.

Efforts are being made to replicate this elsewhere in India.

Emergency procedures on the Glasgow subway are being tested today in the first safety exercise since the July bombings in London.

The drill is being held at West Street and Bridge Street stations, and will involve police, fire and ambulance services and the local authority.

The event at 1900 BST follows a table-top exercise in April and will not affect services, which will operate as normal up to the regular Sunday closing time.
